It is said that the Blue Persian was Queen Victoria's favourite breed of cat. Certainly it is one of the earliest Persian colours and is often thought to be the original colour of the breed (for this reason it is still one of the most popular variations). The coat should be a pale, even blue-grey with no shading or markings and the eyes should be deep copper or orange.
Cream Persians have been known since the end of the nineteenth century, when they were not particularly popular because they were considered to be rather bad, pale examples of a red.
Today, the reverse is true and they are now admired for their beautiful colouring. It is considered a fault for the cream colour to be too hot; it should be an even pale cream and the eyes deep copper.
